Anonymous asked: Anon needs to pull their head from their rear and make a Milt Kahl blog. Would happily follow it.
Agreed! :D
Anonymous asked: I'm tired of Glen Keane, all we have seen from him is Ariel, Rapunzel, Tarzan and some few beat sketches, I dont understand why people are obsessed with this guy. Milt Kahl was the genius.

Glen Keane—the legendary animator of Disney’s Ariel, Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Tarzan, and so many more characters—just told me “There is more in you,” in French. Then he drew Rapunzel for me. I CAN DIE OF HAPPINESS NOW

Last night I got to meet GLEN KEANE.
At first I wasn’t really too excited, but once I head him speak I just couldn’t even function. I slid down in my chair multiple times from emotional overflow and I cried on numerous occasions. It was so beautiful and inspiring and its times like these that make me really happy to be in animation. I know I’m where I should be. :)He asked what I was doing in animation and I told him I like character rigging, and he had nothing but good things to say about rigging, which made me really happy. He was surprised that I was interested in that (cause I’m the only one at my school), but he said that even though I’m having a tough time learning it on my own, don’t ever give up and keep pushing forward cause I’ll get there someday.
I just feel SO INSPIRED! Like I can go CONQUER THE WORLD! But at the same time I kinda just wanna curl up in a ball and cry some more.
I POSTED THIS EVERYWHERE EXCEPT HERE OOPS
okay so, last night i went to a lecture by glen keane, my favorite animator and my role model. it was one of the best experiences of my life. the end.
okay no i have to say a little more than that. his lecture was amazing and inspiring (and I took SO MANY NOTES) and seeing drawings and animation from him i’ve never seen before was fantastic
and then in his Q&A I asked him about “dark rapunzel” and he SAID SOME STUFF THAT I DON’T KNOW IF I’M ALLOWED TO POST HERE BECAUSE HE MADE A JOKE ABOUT HAVING TO KILL EVERYONE IN THE ROOM FOR SECRECY REASONS
after I was the very last one to get something signed/drawn (the head of the animation department let me go up after I told him i was an accepted student. PERKS.)
and i talked to glen as he doodled and thanked him and fangirled a lot. the french phrase there was the motto/theme of his version of tangled, the dark one. and god, that film would have been unspeakably amazing.
so yes: it was wonderful. if you ever get the chance to see Glen talk, DO NOT MISS IT.
